Here are a few pictures from our week:
My mom sends small gifts for the children for each day of advent. Most of their gifts so far have been magnaformers and they LOOOOVE them! They do not put them down. Above are some silly ways they were playing with them one morning.
Michaela came over to spend part of the day with us on Thursday and Alexia had such a blast with her. She arrived just as we were building our Eiffel Tower models for our France study so they enjoyed doing the project together.
We hosted Ricardo's work dinner on Thursday night. Bummer that I didn't get more pictures. We had it catered by an incredible company that served the most delicious food. There were 12 of us and we were able to all cozy up around the dining room table :) It was so special to have a sit down dinner served by waiters! I didn't have to move a finger!
The caterers set up a make-shift kitchen in the playroom and it was quite impressive. They really did an outstanding job.
The deal with the kids was that they had to be invisible during the adult's dinner time (about an hour) and then they were able to join us for the white elephant gift exchange. They played cards and read books by the fire during the entire meal time without a single problem, I couldn't believe it!
The white elephant gift exchange is always so much fun! It was a time filled with laughter by all!
This is a little dark, but I just had to snap a pic of the backyard which has just been looking so dreamy lately. I am so very grateful for this space that the Lord has provided for our family!
On Friday we went to our DASCH Christmas party at a roller skating rink. The children had never been roller skating before and thought it was the best thing they'd ever done! Of course they've all added rollerblades to their Christmas list.
Alexia and Michaela
This lil bit wanted to join them so badly, but was mostly content playing with the walkers :)
Last night we had Deven and his parents over for dinner. Ricardo went to business school with Deven's dad, Alok and we've enjoyed watching the boys grow up together over the years. It had been over two years since we'd had our families together so we really had a blast. We've seen Alok and Nina at different events, but not with the children. We have pictures of Diego and Deven together as babies so it's so fun to see them together as big boys!
