We're back!

We returned from Florida yesterday evening and had a wonderful week away. You may wonder why I only posted pictures and not much text, but all of the pictures are text messages sent from my mobile phone so it is easiest (and fastest) just to text the picture message to the blog. My computer cable died 2 weeks ago so that is why there haven't been any "real" pictures posted in awhile. I should have a new cable tomorrow so I hope to have up some more pictures from our trip this week.
I've had a lovely mother's day today with the family. We went out for a sushi lunch after church and I've enjoyed relishing the delight of three amazing children. The Lord has been so good to me to give me the opportunity to mother these little ones. These young years are fleeting and I pray that I would embrace every day I have with them to be the mom God wants me to be.
After dinner tonight Diego asked what treat we could have and I said "No treat tonight, it is back to reality!" It will be a shift for these kiddos to get back to our family norms which did not hold while on vacation. They watched cartoons every morning while eating their yogurt, had a treat after most lunches and dinners and often times in between, and played all.day.long. There was no putting laundry away, no cleaning rooms, no school time, no schedules, no time crunches and it was oh so blissful. We had an incredible time as a family and we are so grateful that we were able to go this year.

So happy you had a wonderful week away and a nice mother's day. Diego's comment reminded me of happy memories of eating "sugar" cereal on vacations, which was the only time we got to eat things like Lucky Charms or Fruit Loops. I think it's fun to let norms go on vacation, and provides lots of fun rituals that your munchkins will forever remember. xo
