Weekend Fun

Ricardo and I have enjoyed at-home date nights the past two Saturdays and plan to make this an ongoing thing. We used to love to go out to eat together, but are now at a season where staying in is a better option. We have really enjoyed this new routine and look forward to Saturdays being our special date nights (when we don't have other plans). Two Saturdays ago, we had shrimp cocktails, grilled fresh fish from the farmer's market and lots of veggies. This past Saturday we opted for meats (for Ricardo), cheeses, fresh bread and yummy spreads. With Ricardo's busy work schedule during the week and two curious kids, it is important for us to have some special alone time when we can chat and really enjoy each other's company. It is special to be able to do this while enjoying yummy food together!

After church on Sunday, Asher, Adeline and Hartley came over to play. We set up the pool, slip 'n slide and sprinkler and the kids had a blast for hours.

Marco even joined us in his royal vehicle, netting and all. The mosquitos were feisty so he was nice and safe behind his curtain.

Our sweet baby boy is now 8 weeks old! We are so in love with this lil' munchkin. He continues to grow like crazy and now has some serious chub on him. I will take a full-body picture this week. He does not have much of a daytime routine, but is doing much better at nights. He goes to bed anytime between 7:30 and 8:30, nurses around 1:00am, again at 4:30am and wakes up around 7:00am. He has a happy, awake period and usually goes back down for a nap around 8:30. From then on, his daytime sleep and awake periods kind of depend on what we're up to and if we are out and about or staying at home for the day. He usually has a solid 2-3 hour nap in the middle of the day and has several cat naps, here and there.
