Children at Quest are raising money for the youth to go on a mission trip to Bosnia next week.  They are not allowed to ask parents for money and are encouraged to work for money to bring in.  So yesterday we had our very first lemonade stand and it was a success!  We stayed outside for 3 hours and they raised $26.00!  It was one of my favorite memories to date.  They had so much fun, we met neighbors and we served a lot of workers who were genuinely thirsty.  
The kids did not ask to keep any of the money and joyfully gave all the proceeds for the mission trip.  Admittedly, I was tempted to reward them with a dollar each or ice cream for a job well done, but their reward was the joy of serving and the fun they had doing it. Surely another lemonade stand is in our near future!
