Riding her first bike out of Walmart!  The sun was in her eyes so you can't see her sheer excitement, but it was there!

My precious gardener with her pink kicks.

I just dropped Alexia off at Ricardo's office to spend some time with him. She was sooo excited.  You can just barely see her in this picture, I took it from the car.

Ricardo flew in from Canada this afternoon and we headed straight to Piedmont Park for playing, biking, strolling and dinner at Willy's. It was a glorious afternoon and we had a super special afternoon.

Today we attended the Heritage Spring picnic at Stone Mountain and had a blast. The highlight was the ride on the duck boats, pictures below:

Pre-bedtime cuddles.  This lasted about 7 seconds before Marco insisted on getting down.

My favorite part of library day!!

How can he be this big?!

Let's learn!

I was very excited to announce to the kids that tomorrow we have no plans! They both asked if we can make it a homeschool and coloring day. I told them to tell me subjects they would like to learn about and we will go to the library to check out books. They were so excited and their lists are as follows:

Diego:
- The first school in Atlanta
- Revolutionary War
- Titanic
- Why were schools started?
- Alligators vs crocodiles

Alexia:
- How Jesus was born
- The very first car ever
- What were houses and clothes like in the olden days
- What were toothbrushes like in the olden days

I have also requested some books on construction vehicles for Marco because the boy LOVES all construction vehicles. He still does not talk, but he exclaims his excitement every time we pass any large vehicle, including 18-wheelers.

Story time swap

This is what happens when you have a big sister!

Marco wanted to try Alexia's tweezer/bead activity.  He resorted to pouring the beads back and forth...that works.

Wonderful weekend

We had a lovely weekend. On Friday, we kicked it off with a special date night. Ricardo is such a romantic and even put up tiki torches in the yard for us to eat outside. So sweet.
On Saturday, we had friends over for breakfast and had a wonderful time. We've realized that Saturday breakfasts with friends at our house are so much fun so we've been enjoying doing that lately. They left at 11:20 and we headed straight to Diego's soccer game. Diego continues to be an incredible soccer player. He scored 4 goals at the game and played so well. He is a delight to watch because he has great sportsmanship and is a great team player. His coach says he's the best player in the league which I think is definitely the truth, but I say that with all humility because I know this skill is a gift from the Lord and is nothing that we've done.
In the afternoon we hung out at home and did some yard work. In the evening, Ricardo and I headed to a friend's birthday party which was so much fun.

Ricardo decorated the kids chore charts tonight.  Yes, that's the kind of week we're having...we printed them out on THURSDAY!  I thought the kids would be ecstatic to wake up and see special drawings from daddy.
Diego and Alexia went to bed tonight with feathers tucked into their mattresses, requesting that we wake them up by tickling them with the feathers!

Today we spent the day with my friend, Jessica and her two youngest daughters (older two kids were at school).  We walked to an awesome community garden for a picnic lunch and lots of fun play.  We are all worn out after lots of walking and playing!
