Spider boy!

Sharing a milkshake in their jammies. We had a lazy, pj day today complete with a trip to the chik fil a drive thru. A sick baby brings special perks to big kids :)

Making friendship bracelets

Baby boy is sick:( I think he has allergies because he is miserable with coughing, sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes.
He doesn't want me to put him down.

Alexia: I can't wear this dress, it doesn't match my nail polish. It doesn't have purple.
Me: Wear the dress daddy bought you. It has purple.
Alexia: No it doesn't. You are not serious.

A trip to the farm

Today we went on a field trip with our homeschool group to a farm, over an hour up north. Several weeks ago, Diego asked me if we could go to a real farm sometime to see the animals and all the things that go on there so I was so excited when this field trip was announced. We left home at 9am for our drive.

We were rushed this morning to get out the door and Alexia really, really wanted to wear this so I figured the cows and chickens wouldn't mind if she wasn't matching. :)

The little calves were so adorable drinking milk from their bottles

Diego and his buddy, James petting the goats

We saw a long cow milking demonstration and it was so interesting and the kids loved it!

Diego and James loved this water duck race track. They pumped the water out with all their strength...

...and the ducks raced down the tracks. So fun!

We left the farm around 1:15pm to make it to gymnastics by 3pm. I told Diego that we could skip gymnastics if he was too tired, but he insisted that he had enough energy to go. Marco fell asleep in the car and had been asleep for about 25 minutes when he was rudely awoken by his big sister. She was so tired and cranky and her screaming tantrum woke him up. So yes, super baby did it again. He was out and about all day long, snoozed for that 25 minutes and was as happy as can be the rest of the time. I should probably mention that in order for him to remain happy with such a lack of sleep, he wants to be held all the time, but that is fine by me :)

After gymnastics we came home for some strawberries, a long bath for everyone, dinner and then bed time. Marco was zonked out by 6:30!

We decided to start our week off with a wonderful nature walk at Dunwoody Nature Center.  Ruth and her kids met us there and we had a blast!

Yesterday we had an afternoon coffee break at Panera

Woo hoo! I have registered my new phone on blogger so that I can write posts on this blog directly from my new phone. How cool! I'm not sure if I can upload several pictures at a time so bear with me while I figure this out.

The above picture is from Sunday afternoon. I took the kids to Lemonade Days which was a fun arts & crafts festival nearby, complete with fun rides. Helen met us there so it was a special outing for all!

Our week with Grammie

I thought I would at least get the pictures up and some shorts captions...

Before my mom arrived, the kids asked if we could sit down and make a list of all the things they wanted to do with Grammie. The list included zoo, chik fil a, bowling, mall, fun house, village burger, movies, pizza night, Jeronimos, Dunwoody Nature Center and I think that's it. I made it very clear that these were just ideas and that we wouldn't do everything. As it turned out, we almost did do everything on the list!

Monday was Zoo day:

We had an absolute blast at the zoo. I think the success of the trip had a lot to do with the fact that we took the double stroller for D & A and the single stroller for Marco. There was not a single complaint about someone being tired or having achy feet.

We had a very special visitor on Monday night, Tia Ale!!! She had a layover in Atlanta on her way to France from El Salvador so she was able to spend the night with us. We had a wonderful time and Alexia was especially attached to her!

We went out to brunch on Tuesday morning and Alexia wanted to sit next to Tia Ale and even on her lap when we arrived.

Wednesday was Fun House day:

The kids asked to buy $1 worth of tokens so that they could play some games. Diego loves the ball toss...

...and basketball.

Marco enjoyed the mini ball pit.

After the Fun House, we went to Village Burger for lunch which has become a family favorite. They have hamburgers that the kids love and an awesome vegetarian sandwich for me. After lunch we went to Ikea to buy new furniture for the playroom. Yes, talk about a busy busy day for the 3 kids. We were all wiped out by the end of it!

Here is Grammie in the middle of the disaster we made of the playroom while putting together new furniture. She also installed new blinds and helped me get everything organized. I will post the "after" pictures soon.

I think I've already posted a picture of Diego's favorite monkey business, climbing the door frames. He is now kicking it up a notch and hangs there with no hands and two feet or no feet and two hands. It's great!
After I finished the post below, I wrote up a very long post with a ton of pictures and wrote about my mom's week here with us last week. Then, poof! It was gone. Arrggh. I was frustrated! So, now I need to sit down again and redo that post, but just wanted to check in to say hola! We have had a super busy week with outings every day. Darling baby boy has been fighting his morning naps so we may be transitioning to one nap a day. Our big news is that we have registered Diego for Kindergarten for next year! It is a really cool story how God worked in awesome ways to lead us to our favorite school in Atlanta for Diego. The short of it is that I called the school 3 weeks after their application deadline to inquire if we could submit an application. I was calling so late because it wasn't until then that we realized it would be a feasible option for our family. For two weeks after that call, everything happened so seamlessly and in our favor, from Diego's testing to our parent interview. We received the letter on April 2nd that he was accepted and we were so excited! The school is called Heritage Preparatory and it is right in line with our philosophy of education and is Christ-centered. He will go Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:00am to 12:30pm. We praise God for his amazing provision and direction for this decision! I wrote this on Facebook, but wanted to record it here for our book. A few weeks ago, Alexia was holding Marco and sang to him, "Marco, I'm your good pirate and you're my baby pirate. I will rescue you forever and we will go to Chik Fil Aaaaaaa!" Alexia sings more of her words than she speaks them. We call her "la cantarina." It is adorable. Ricardo had a business trip last week that took him to El Salvador, Costa Rica and Colombia, from Saturday to Saturday. My mom came to stay with us while he was gone and we had a blast. I will redo that post soon!

Catch up

The three bugaboos who make my heart so very happy:

Diego has a new skill that he does over and over and over, every day. He loves to climb the door frames:

Ricardo's aunt sent this outfit to Marco and he looked adorable in it!

Our princess, working hard in the dirt

Diego is dressed more appropriately for the activity

Our big baby boy at 10 months!

This is a very common pose of these two

Remember back when Marco was a lil' baby and there was always someone kissing him? Not much has changed. D & A still love to shower him with kisses

Diego is super protective of Marco. Here he is crawling ahead of him to protect him
