Sick week

We haven't had a fun week so far. I'm hoping the last half is better than the first half. Diego came down with a fever on Friday which came and went for three days and turned into a yucky cold, or mild flu - not sure which. He has no appetite and does not want to eat anything, not even ice cream! Yesterday Alexia started coughing and seems to be feeling yucky too. The past two nights have been of very little sleep because between the two of them, somebody has been up every 1 or 2 hours.

On a cuter note, we got into the car Monday afternoon and it was really sunny. Diego put his arm over his eyes and said "Necesita anteojos Diego" (Diego needs sunglasses). It seems he got his mommy's sensitive eyes. He held his arm over his eyes the whole drive to Target, where we bought him a pair of sunglasses.

Alexia has started laughing and it is soooo cute. She has the sweetest little giggle - I'll try to get a video of it in the next few days. She is a very chatty and smiley baby.

This is mostly all Diego has eaten since Saturday. He just had a few nibbles of popcorn on Monday and had some strawberries yesterday. He's drinking a ton of fluids and I've been making him smoothies jam-packed with fruit which he'll usually accept. (Notice that he has a cup of milk on one side and a cup of water on the other)

Sweet Laughter

This video is from a couple of weeks ago, but I had to post it. This laughter is contagious:

Playdate with friends

Today, Diego and I each had 4 friends over and we had a great time! The ten of us used to get together once a week for a bible study last summer and we've missed our weekly reunions so it was really nice to be together and catch up. If we do another bible study this summer, there will 13 of us because Alexia has since arrived and Megan and Ruth are expecting babies in June/July.
Alexia slept through most of the playdate so she didn't get to make an appearnce in the group photo, but she did get some cuddles from the big kids when she woke up.

After Diego saw the girls lovin' on Alexia, he wanted to have his own cuddle with her

For Tio Robi!!!

(notice how he "jumps" into the kitchen. He likes to jump from one place to the next, he forgets his feet are for walking)

Morning routine

Diego showers with Ricardo most mornings and he aboslutely loves it. I love it too because it gives me a chance to get breakfast ready for everyone and I don't have to worry about bath-time in the evenings. Here is Diego playing under the water, waiting for Papi to join him...

Strollin' in Style!

We finally have a double stroller! We took it for a test-run today and I absolutely loved it! It felt so good to get out for a walk and have both kids confined. Our recent walks have been quite slow since I push Alexia in her stroller and let Diego walk.
The thing is a monster so I still have to see if it will fit in our trunk - hope so!
Thank you Grammie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alexia will have her own red seat once she is able to sit up. The seats spin so they can both face frontwards, both face backwards, face each other or each face in the opposite direction - very cool!

We are SO excited that Alon's has finally opened just up the street. Here Diego is enjoying a delicious apple-bran muffin. I picked up some croissants for our morning coffee tomorrow!

Our sweet girl is now THREE months old - amazing! (and last night she was extra sweet because she slept form 7:30pm to 6:30am!!)

A weekend of fun

I think this was our most active weekend since Alexia's arrival and we had a blast. On Saturday we hung out at home in the morning and had fun playing and reading books. Alexia took a 3 1/2 hour nap so Diego, Ricardo and I played legos, read books, danced and just had fun. After Diego's nap we packed everyone up and headed to the park. Alexia fell asleep in the car (she was due for another nap), but woke up as soon as we arrived at the park. She doesn't sleep well when we're out and about. Diego had the time of his life at the park. He took a frisbee and a soccer ball with him and wore Papi out with all the running around. Alexia and I hung out on a park bench and watched the boys have their fun.

From the park we drove to our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner. Diego ate an entire quesadilla, a plate full of rice and beans and chips & salsa...and a huge glass of milk. He was HUNGRY! He loves to dip the chips in the spicy salsa and says "Pica salsa!" (Salsa is spicy!) Alexia woke up in the middle of our meal, but was really happy just hanging out and watching all the activity around us.

On Sunday we went to church in the morning. Diego had a runny nose so Ricardo took him in to the service with him (I was teaching Sunday School). It had been awhile since we took Diego into the service since he used to have a hard time keeping quiet and still. Well, he did awesome. He hung out on Ricardo's lap the entire time and was a good boy. He would repeat every third or fourth word that Pastor Paul said and mimicked the actions of the people around him. Alexia was in the nursery and did really well and didn't cry once! We were very proud of them!

After church we went to the grocery store to pick up lunch and headed to a neighborhood park in the area which we love. Once again, Diego had a blast. He carried the frisbee with him the entire time and didn't even put it down to go on the playground and down the slide.

We came home for a late nap, played a little bit, had dinner and were out the door again at 6:30 for evening service at church. Alexia was super tired, but since there was a lot of singing, noise and bright lights, she couldn't sleep. She stayed in her carseat the entire time and sucked on a pacifier and did pretty well. Diego got a bit antsy after awhile so him and I sat on the floor in the back of the sanctuary for awhile and I was able to enjoy the sermon while he played on the floor.

So...that was our busy weekend! Now we're ready for the week!

The girls had fun watching the boys be boys...

Alexia's first party

Diego's good buddy, Caitlin had her birthday party today and it was Alexia's first party and she was so good. We had to wake her up from her deep slumber to head to the party and she stayed awake the whole time, watching all the kids. It was at a gymnasium and there was a little "gym class" for the kids and Diego absolutely loved it. I thought I had taken more pictures, but didn't.

We've had a good week. Up until two nights ago, Alexia was sleeping from 8:30pm - 5:30am. She's woken up a couple of times the past two nights, but hopefully we'll get back to our good routine soon. She takes one good nap a day and is generally a happy baby. She still HATES her bath time so we're down to one bath a week, with facecloth wipe-downs in between.

It is a rare time when both the munchkins are asleep at the same time and right now is one of those moments so I need to take advantage!!

Happy Friday!

He did a good job following directions and doing what the instructor said

All dressed up for the party in the adorable outfit that Auntie Asawari sent!

Alexia ADORES her brother and doesn't take her eyes off of him
